Default Hello, I love my CBR1000F

New to this forum (duh) but since I have one of these wonderful CBRs I thought I'd join up. This is my 3rd season though I really don't count the first one since I rode maybe 250 miles that year. Total miles is around 7,000 now and 2,000 of that is on the Oreo. I just can't stay off it! So, while I'm waiting for the oil to drain out I figured I'd say hello and post a couple pics of her.

Welcome to CBRForum, SiX!
Nice bike, bud...
1994, eh? Dang low miles for an old F'er..

These are really great bikes. I know I love mine. I'm thinking of getting a something newer next season, but my 1000F is going nowhere. It's comfortable, reliable, stable, and still pulls hard.

Stop in at the Hurricane section... good folks there...

The bike has somewhere between 37,000 and 40,000 miles on it. The speedo broke and wasn't replaced. OD reads around 33,000. I've replaced the speedo and put 1k on it at least since then. I love this bike and love that it's received such great care over the years.

And as a random thought, I'd love some kind of cafe bike for fun. Since the Oreo is my first sportbike (coming frome an Intruder 800) I would love a bomb around town bike. I LOVE the new suzuki gladuis. I want something quick and easy to throw around. I'm short, 5'4", so little or low to the ground with some energy appeal to me. I'm nuts but not insane, which is why I was allowed this bike as my first sport bike. (story there) Um, my train of thought has been de-railed cause it's late.

BTW, I'm a chic. It's been named the Oreo. Previous owner called it the 'bloody oreo' but I refuse to use the term 'blood' when refering to a bike that wants to kill you. And, I ride slow, as in a cop didn't blink when I went through the round-a-bouts in town. I try to rev it to proper rpms when I get the chance and would love to do an intentional wheelie (yes, accidentally got the front wheel airborborne) but I try to respect the bike, and my own broken self, so try to not listen to the voices coming from the Oreo telling me bad things.

I just happened to show up here.

SIX, you do need to visit the CBR1000F "Hurricane" section and talk about your bike.
The most likely trouble with your speedo is the danm plastic piece between the sprocket nut and the speedo drive. Come over there and chat.

I'll go over to the Hurricane section. And yes, it was the plastic nut. I hear they only last 15,000 miles or so.
