Hey thanks guys, I absolutely love my bike. Then again, I'm sure we all love our first bikes!

No plans on getting rid of it. It marks a milestone in my life, the moment I became a rider and made my pops proud.

A thing that I noticed is that while many other bikers on the road wave, or rather put their hand down in salute to me, most Harley riders don't. I've even gotten a few sneers and side comments at the lights already. I don't understand this. Aren't we all riding? Do we not all take the same risks when we jump in the saddle and head down the road? Seems extremely childish. I've only gotten this from the Harley riders. Mean bunch they are lol.

Btw, when abouts will I be able to post without having to wait for mod approval? I couldn't find info regarding when restrictions on the forums are lifted regarding to the post count/join date.

Manny

edit: Nevermind lol, it is lifted I see :P

Manny, the topic of dropping a hand (or lack thereof) by some cruisers, pops up here from time to time. Basically, it is what it is. Just let it roll off. The true fraternity of riders will drop a hand or nod the head in return just about every time...unless they're in a turn of course. ;-)

Last summer, I was on a ride in my regular twisty area & came upon a group of "cruisers" coming the opposite direction. I dropped my hand to the lead rider - no return. I kept it down but none responded. As I got past the group, I looked back to see that they were - shall we say, a patch-wearing group...that I heard later, was on their way to a rally.

Be safe out there!

I'm sure some riders think I'm a bit rude too, I always try to wave at everyone. But I am sure some people don't see me, I wear solid black leather gloves, and well unless it is High noon, you can't see my hand.

But I try to wave to everyone, And If I see a biker sitting on the roadside, I stop and ask if he needs help. Maybe one day when I'm broke down someone will return the favor.

As far as you bike, I really like it alot. Its a beautiful bike and I'd be proud to ride that thing anywhere. I accually just bought me an old CB750 that I am gonna try to restore this winter, she is no where as nice as the one you got but it should make me a good cruise around ride none the less.

this topic comes up all the time, with a variety of perspectives. but it's funny to see this opinion from a new rider right out the gate. welcome to two wheels manny!
