thanks for the advice. Do you have any thoughts on the mileage on the 954? It has 6,200 miles..which seems reasonable for an 02. Any reason to shy away from a bike based on miles? If so, at what point does mileage on a used bike become more of a consideration? I like that the 2003 F4i has only 2,700 miles..but as I said earlier, I'm leaning to the 954. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

 

Ask the seller for maintenance records. Sport bikes are meant to be ridden hard and in my experience will last over 35Kmiles (even when turbo charged) if you keep the machine maintained. So I wouldn't be worried about 6K miles on an '02. I put over 10K a year on my bike.
