I introduced myself but their are some question s Id like to put to you experianced bikers out their...I have an 88 1000f in fantastic condition but I have nothing to compare it with as I have not ridden another bike for 29 years except a bit of dirt biking with my son , how does this bike compare speed wise with what s out their, it feels fast but im sure its a slug these days, brakes dont feel that great on the front is this the norm? tyres are Avon Azzaro are these really as crap as I have been reading about ? and lastly I opened it up on a good road and took a bit of a buffeting at 120 before I remembered I was a learner and slowed down, are you meant to get low behind the screen when going fast or am I just a wimp. Just to add I tipped it on my first day parking it...but it wont happen again hopefully!! Tim

Welcome and enjoy it!!

I'm 39 and just bought a 900RR.

I just read the second post. My best freind had an 87 or 88 CBR1000 Hurricane, a long time back. As I remember, when traveling really fast, I did have to get down on the tank, to get out of the wind buffeting. He had a tough time with tires on that thing and dumped it in a parking lot. I think he finally used Metzler tires and was happy with them. I had Avon tires on my old GSXR and hated them too. I would call or e-mail the major tire manufactures and see what they offer, in a high performance tire, for the sizes your CBR1000 requires.

Just my thoughts.
