Hello all you chicks

I hope you don't mind a foreigner busting in on the party!

Name: Nele
Where do you live? Tallinn, Estonia (In Europe...a tiny country right below Finland), but right now me and my bf moved to Thailand..just for fun been here for 2 months now
What are you riding? '01 CBR 600F, yellow-black. No mistaking me with anyone else on the streets of Tallinn
How long have you been riding? Since last summer, a few months. You can only ride decently from about march/april to october/november and even then the Old Hands think your are weird to go out in that cold. Wouldn't dare go out on a bike here in Thailand, it's crazy. Have to be content with small motorbikes they have like ants.
What kind of riding do you do? (track, touring, city/country, dirt etc) street, but would love to get dirty :P
Why do you love this sport? Ahh, it's such great fun! and the rush, hoo. Plus it's just cool
How did you get into this sport? I sing in our university choir, for five years so far, and there's this guy, who every summer rides to our summer camp/thingy with his bike. I think he had a YZF before and a 1K kawa at the moment and every time I would look at the bike drooling. Dang, these things are hot. So this last summer, I just one moment decided to hell yeah, do it. This same friend put me on his built-from-scraps motocross bike to start out on, prett awesom machine Due to some logistical stuff I had "one spare car that I didn't need", I could sell that and get a bike I signed up for courses that started as soon as possible (2 days) and just did it on a fly. My instructor told me at first that he didn't believe I'd be up to it at first. It's difficult for sure, I'm only 157 cm and 48 kg Loved it ever since. Had some trouble convincing my bf though. How weird is that? a girl trying to tell his bf why a bike is a good idea.
Advice for new riders? If you can ride a bicycle, you can do this as well Don't get a fancy shiny new bike for your first - you'll be sorry to scratch it (and I promise you will), always wear your gear (in fact, first get decent gear and then see how much is left for a bike..I have personally never spent so much on a hobby) and practice that foxy look for the moment you tear off your helmet
How did you find CBR Forums? Through biker forum in Estonia. Someone posted some picture from here. Thought I'd check it out

And here's the baby and me, before heading out on our last ride this season (had to go to that same friends place 200 km away to get some stuff fixed, a good excuse for a saturday ride. Unfortunatelly, the bike had to come back on a trailer as one of the spark-plugs wouldn't go in anymore[:@] the coils? threads? don't know how it is in english, were f***ed up by pre-previous owner ). Note the tiptoes

Where do you live? Westerville, Ohio (near Columbus)

What are you riding? Just bought an '01 CBR F4i, haven't gotten to ride her yet, damn snow!

How long have you been riding? Started riding 2 years ago on a Ninja 250

What kind of riding do you do? Street

Why do you love this sport? The freedom and excitement. I love being a part of the group that are lucky enough to ride, it's like you have a friend around every corner. Riding has opened up our horizons when it comes to vacation too. We went to Daytona Bike Week last year (and will be going again in a few weeks) and for our first anniversary we went to Gatlinburg and took a day to ride the Dragon. We even plan day trips more just to take a ride. Oh and I have to add gas milage in there too, last summer I only put gas in my car twice because I was riding so much to keep the cost down.

How did you get into this sport? My husband had his bike license when he lived in the UK and just never got around to doing it in the U.S. He had toyed with the idea and asked if I wanted to as well. Then we decided to buy motorcycles instead of a honeymoon when we got married. A few weeks before the wedding, we took the MSF course and bought our bikes. I got mine just a few days before we left to get married in the UK. People have asked us the typical "are you going to have kids" questions after getting married and our response is "we bought bikes!" LOL

Advice for new riders? The MSF course is the best thing ever. Don't let anyone convince you that bigger is better when you're starting out, you have to be comfortable with your ride. Gear always!!!

How did you find CBR Forums? My husband told me about it. When moving up to a 600 the F4i was my top choice so he had been scoping the site for opinions and bikes that needed homes.

How long have you been riding? about a year and a half
What kind of riding do you do? (track, touring, city/country, dirt etc) Just city...and freeways. It's my daily rider
Why do you love this sport? It's very practical. I get amazing gas mileage, and I love the looks I get riding around town.
How did you get into this sport? A few old friends of mine had bikes, and after riding on the back with them, I decided I wanted my own bike.
Advice for new riders? Don't be cocky. Wear your gear ( I personally would rather sweat than bleed). Take your MSF class.
How did you find CBR Forums? I had a problem with my bike and I did a google search and here I am!

What are you riding? CBR 600 F3 Smokin Joe Edition
How long have you been riding? I learned about 5 years ago but ended up dropping the bike. I stopped riding but now I am back. I am taking things slow right now and getting the hang of it again.
What kind of riding do you do? (track, touring, city/country, dirt etc) Well...I ride 4 wheelers and now have my own bike
Why do you love this sport? It is exciting and fun.....and I just plain enjoy it.
How did you get into this sport? My husband has had several bikes and I have always been on the back......but now it's time for me to have my own and ride with him.
Advice for new riders? Take your time!!! I have had several people try to get me to do things that I was not comfortable with and that is not cool. Take things one at a time and go at your own pace! And always, always, ALWAYS wear your helmet!!!! Looking "cool" is not worth your life.
How did you find CBR Forums? I just started looking for forums online for the type of bike I have.

How long have you been riding? Got my endorsement just this month, and have managed to log a few hundred miles in the last couple of weeks. Still trying to get my sea legs in a lot of ways and just taking it easy.

What kind of riding do you do? street

Why do you love this sport? VROOM! about sums it up.

How did you get into this sport? Bought the boyfriend a GSX-R 600 for our 5th anniversary; I was going to learn on his bike but was too scared to scratch up something new. We got a Ninja 250 for me to go through the MSF course on, and within a week I knew I wanted something a bit bigger.

What type of bike(s) do you have? 03 Ninja 250, 02 CBR600 f4i

Advice for new riders? Don't feel bad for starting small- and don't let anyone make you feel bad when you decide to upgrade

How did you find CBR Forums? Google-fu!

Me and my new precious, right after new tires:

I'm really enjoying the 600. Going from a carburated biike to a fuel-injected bike made a huge difference in my comfort level with the noise. Also, cornering is *far* easier. And I can keep up with the boys :P

Hi, I'm Sasha.
I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
I have an 09 CBR 600 RR and a 92 Yamaha Seca II.
I've been riding for 3 years.
Right now I'm doing city riding and some touring, but I hope to ride the CBR on the track at some point. I'd also like to enter the Iron Butt competition, but that'll probably be on the Seca II.
I love going fast, and longboarding was my gateway drug that led to motorcycles.
My boyfriend, dad and friends have all encouraged me to get into bikes.
If you're new to riding, get a beater bike first and ride it for at least 2 years. You're going to drop it at least once, plus newer bikes are VERY fast. Also, go at your OWN pace and avoid riding in groups. Those go hand in hand. Last but not least, always be open to learning something new. The more open to criticism and correcting mistakes you are, the safer you'll be, and the longer you'll get to ride in life.
I just did a google search for a cbr forum and found this one.

Default i. iz. noob.

Name: Amanda

Where do you live? Los Angeles, CA (Los Feliz, to the locals)

What are you riding?
'68 Honda CB160, '64 Honda CA160, and soon... '89 CBR 600F (Hurricane)

How long have you been riding?
6 months (4,000ish miles?)

What kind of riding do you do?
street

Why do you love this sport?
it's cheaper than a shrink ;-)

How did you get into this sport?
I've been itching to get a Honda CBR since I first laid eyes on one, but it wasn't until recently that I found/made friends who were into the motorcycle culture. My boyfriend gave me a 150cc scooter to learn on and take the test, and the rest is history...

Advice for new riders?
I'm fairly new myself, but as a rider in a busy city where the drivers are f*ing insane... I would like to add to the list of must-have gear: go for plain visibility over fashion if you have the option. I commute daily, taking surface streets through the belly of the beast, and I can't help but notice that I have zero "close calls" in my bright red w/white piping jacket compared to people practically running me off the road on purpose when I wear any of my "cooler looking" black or brown ones... (weird coincidence?)

How did you find CBR Forums? .
I'm picking up a Hurricane in a month, so I decided to research the heck out it, since it'll be my first sport bike.
