Wonderful stories gentlemen, thanks for sharing.

As my daughter nears her 17th birthday it's refreshing to hear that a parent can be proud of a child after witnessing said child's teenage years. I cling desperately to that hope at times.

We were sitting at a "fine dining" restaurant in New Orleans when he was about two, and I was always the "let him figure it out -- he won't kill himself" type, so rather than take all the tableware from in front of him, I always let him play with it. I always worked out fine until that day when he was horsing around with the knife (the dull kind for butter) and suddenly learned how to throw it. It went about ten feet and landed in the middle of another couple's table. I was slightly embarrassed, but pretty amused.
