Back on cars...
Last night, the Wife and I were talking about some of the old cars that our parents and grandparent's had when we were growing up. We got to laughing pretty hard.
My grandmother is about 4'11" and weighs probably 80lbs. She drove a sweet gremlin. 5sp/6cyl.
My parents bought a white Yugo from a guy down the street for like $200. To be fair to it, it actually ran pretty dam good for a long time and it was great in the snow. However, it would stall and not start sometimes. Only way to get it to start was to push start it, so my job (at like 9yrs old) was to work the clutch while my dad pushed it. LOL..
The first time I did it was in the middle of a construction zone blocking traffic. I popped the clutch, the car took off and hit two orange barrels, sending them into a ditch. My dad was laughing his *** off as we sped away.
His other ride for a long time was a 1970 Chevelle. When we were living in an apartment when I was really young, he had a canoe strapped to the top of it for over a year. All through the winter and everything. He started it with a nail file in the ignition because he only had one key and it broke. It burned so much oil that he kept a 5gal bucket full in the trunk.
Good times!

Nice Land Rover, Karlo!! There is one for sale a few miles from work. We don't see them for sale too often, and I'd like to get it. I've heard good things about them. However, I already have too many trucks and the wife would be pissed if I brought it home. We just don't have enough room.
In fact, the wife mentioned the other day how I should sell my Toy truck and get a 1000RR. I suppose I could live with that, though...
Jules, very nice too! We don't have those cars here. Kinda like an Italian Civic??

Oooh I love the new Fiat 500, it's so chic and fun to drive but I ended up with the Grande Punto as they are more practical, comfy and roomy ..still I would happliy have the 500 :-) ..the new Fiats are really good now and well made.
Jules
Here we go, the day I picked it up ... love it!! Fun to drive to and nearly 60Mpg :-)

60MPG!!! GIMME GIMME GIMME . I could do with some of that , I only get 28 out of mine
Yeah Fiat seem to be making some good cars now , not like the bad old days , in the 70's and 80's , after a year all you were left with was a pile of rust in the shape of a car
They've really improved over the last 10 years!
