I've always been of the opinion that if you're going to send your citizens off to war, the first guys in the "trenches" should be the politicians who make the decisions.
I'd say it would be a guaranteed way to stop any and all wars...................................

And yes TK all too true. If you don't learn from history......................

i was at the funeral of this young girl just down the road a few miles from me.

whatever idea our country leaders have in their heads that think they can fix this through fighting, need to wake up.

She looks like a sweet thing.

Way too young.

How and where, if you don't mind, Ken?

Unfortunately, it's a sad truth that history is always the best predictor of the future.

I have a huge amount of time and respect for the people that serve our fair countries. My brother inlaw has served in the NZ Army for the last 20 years and has been all over the place. He has just signed up for another five, I have a huge amount of admiration and respect for the guy and proud to be his inlaw.

My work mate/shift partner lost his cousin who served in our RNZAF two years ago in an ANZAC day helecopter crash. The day is meant to remember and celebrate our fallen. He became one of them, he and the two others shall not be forgotten, they died serving our country.
