Here's a quick vid showing the essentials .... I usually put it on the paddock stand while it's on the centre stand tho!

This guy makes it look way too easy tho:

I suppose it's just a matter of practise!

The spools on the Kawi makes things a whole lot easier, and neither of those bikes weigh what our bikes do.

I know matey, but I think it's just a matter of technique ..... If Kaz is around, I do usually get her to stand at the blind side ..... just in case!

Once you raise the rear of a bike up a bit the center stand becomes less usable and you need rear stands.
This +1

There really isn't a trick to it...you just get more comfortable with it the more you do it. The best hint I can give is to have your right hand on the ha ndle of the rear stand, and push down slightly as you stand the bike up off the side stand, such that it's loaded just a little. Then, you'll feel it when the bike gets vertical and is evenly rested on both pads...push the handle to the floor and you're done.

On a side note, I have a V&H 4-1 pipe, and the center stand works just fine. My bike didn't come with one on it, but I got one on Ebay and fitted it no probs.

Shocks are expensive but I can't think of a better way to spend $500 than on a decent used shock and a set of fork springs. Used Fox shocks run in the $200 to $500 range, you can find ohlins stuff for $400 and up used for most bikes. Some people will spend that and more to gain 5% HP or twice that to make the same bike a different color.

I want my **** to handle properly when i come into a corner a bit hot.
Again with the +1

The very next thing I do to my CBR will be to replace the spring holder they call a shock...no $ is better spent if you like to ride at any sort of spirited pace.
