Default New Poster - Paddock stands

Hi there - I'm a new poster here. Just brought a track worn 2000 CBR 600. I'm streeting it this year and hope to get some track time on her myself next year.

The PO was using a pitstand that was the underswing arm type. Looks like it worked well.

Right now I have a chance to buy (cheapily - that's why this is a question) a spool type paddock stand. This bike doesn't have spools currently, and I don't see any pre-drilled spots on the swingarm.

Is it ok to tap the swingarm to install spools? Or is it just better to buy an under swingarm stand instead?

Looks like a great place for CBR info. I'll be here for awhile!

Previously I've ridden a number of bikes. Lately I've been into a more touring mode. I was in the market for a new bike and got a deal on a cbr... went for the test ride and fell in love. Before that test ride I'd tried a number of different new bikes but just couldn't find what I was looking for. Now I can tour and best of all - with the spare plastics and tires can easily take this bike back to the track for some rider training!

Cheers all

Woot.
