Good thinking Sprock - on the belts that is - as for turning that lovely old cruiser into a cafe racer, well, just *&^%$#@ !!!!! You have no soul, heretics all !!!
{I'll have the back boxes for my next cruiser - hell they'd even fit on my 1000F )

I'll find a blower and even a turbo or nitrous for it if you like, but the kit will cost 4x what you paid for the bike

I must say though this one is quite tasty !

They say the 5 year 25k mi mark for the belts is an over kill. If its been sitting I'd do 'em to be safe. It can't be more than a 2-beer job as the covers are on plain view. In any case, can't be as bad as valve adjustment on a Duck.

With the encouragement of your mate (and beer) you have a bit of a flick at an H2.

Bam, your $62 cam belts end up costing you $3K, and the H2 doesn't actually run.

But I guess that's just motorcycles isn't it?

Never enough of them to satisfy today's particular riding urge.

Always too many of them to actually justify to the wife.

Well Teeks everyone knows just one bike is too many if you were to actually have
the scenario where you had to make justifications in the first place .......lol

Carbs, tank and any fuel related lines and pumps will be the first thing stripped off.
There's a whole very simplified routine for the belts to be replaced - not a bit worried
about that at all.

Up early tomorrow for the long trek to go an get this in Acworth NH - 6 hrs rnd trip
on the road at 7 should be back for Turkey sammiches by 1pm

Thanks for the link there - Pete but I found these Gates Belt's - good reputation a bit
cheaper too I'll prolly be looking for two new adjuster/tensioners too

Well here she is on the "Transporter" think I'll call her Samantha almost like her Uncle lol

Up close shes not as purty - lots of rusty chrome and oxidized metal - this will take the winter

We're gonna lose him Pete; I bet within six months he's joined the Gold Wing Owners Forum, gained 20 kgs and started smoking a pipe.

It's a sad and slippery slope, but it's something we're all susceptible to.

"Ohh, might just buy a cheap Goldwing"; then,"There's a an old BMW that's a bit cheap", before you know it "Wow . Look how cheap this Harley is"

Like Wooferdog has said in another thread "The first one is free, once we have you hooked you have to start paying" - although to be fair I think he was referring to Nigella Lawson and deep fried Mars Bars (mmmmmmmmmmm)

True, TK. Don't fret - if he starts that I'll get Maxwell to correct his attitude................

I didn't know Nigella was "on the game" though ?

Ya know TK there's times you are actually bloody funny !

Trust me this wing is going to be one bloody hot running / looking bike
when I'm finished .... might take me quite sometime tho. I snuck out before
work this am to look it over again - Jaysus there's tons of work

kinda like shooting for this kind of look but in a Dark Titanium Color Scheme
with the wrapped pipes and blackened everything

Wonder of DUB (cbr1988) knows what other forks would fit it !
Love to put some inverted forks on it

I'll be watching your progress with interest Mark.

All the cafe-racer style ones I've seen have looked drop dear gorgeous.
