Basicly an early Goldwing.
Gee that's a helluva price for a 78 model - I'm sure we can find you one in good condition for a lot less money, even taking freight into account.
My friend Des has one, he's also got 2 1500 Goldwings and has done over 1 million K's on one of them. He's now in his late 70's and still riding.
I'll ask Des and report back what he has to say about them. May take a while I don't see him that often - he's always on a long trip to somewhere

I did find this

You tweaked my interest and found a good deal near me for short$

Generally speaking the average $ for a excellent condition one here is 1500 - 2500

I'd have that in a heartbeat - even if you spend some dough on it they are great bikes and get top prices in good condition. Parts are plentiful and not too expensive.

Some great finds there guys.

I've always loved the shape of the old GL1000 and they really do suit an old school cafe racer look like the one Splash found.

Got to be naked though, don't want those great looks covered up.

That's a CX not a CBX, Teeks. The adverts confusing - small difference from 2 to 6 cylinders.
Interesting comment from the owner "only ever used mineral oil - she doesn't like synthetics" - if he's never used it how does he know ?
There are plenty of those here - esp 500's. $8K is crazy for that bike.
