Default Average mileage.

Hi. I have recently MOT'ed my cbr1000f. I did 2500 miles since the last one. The tester says the average mileage is about 400. I cant believe this. What are your average yearly miles?

I had to read that twice to make sure I hadn't missed any zeros. My old cbr1000f was sold with 97,000 on the clock. 12,500 miles in her last year with me and a total of 35,000 in 3 years. Just checked the Zed and 7,000 in 8 months. Had the blade 2 weeks and done 486 miles already. I wonder how people keep the mileages so low :-/

Think that's based on people that get a bike just as a flight of fancy. Obviously not anyone on this forum. I intend to ride as long and as often as I can

Err, cough ; '87 Mk1 with 37 500 km on the clock ( I think that's about maybe 23 000 miles).

27 years old, less than a 1 000 miles per year. In my defense she did spend over a decade parked up and unused.

But you also have to appreciate that sometimes you just come across a bike that you are a temporary custodian of.

Quick math says I'm averaging a little over 6000 mi., a little less than 10,000 km per year that I've owned the bike

I supose I could be one of those with the low millage after having the bike laid up for nearly 3 years but since it's been back on the road it's a different matter.

Now I'm near to 40k, that's over 1000 miles in about a month of riding so getting there. Doesn't help when I spend 2/3 of the year sat on an oil rig .

I only got the CBR end of last year and it didnt roll for a while. Ive done 1000 miles in the last 4 weeks and some miles on the Versys and am off the Scotland in a couple of weeks (Versys, sorry guys but theres some rough roads where Im off)
So nope Im not a big milage guy only about 6K a year but 400 sounds like an under exageration.

Here in Tassie(small island state way down south that rains a lot) it is quite usual to find bikes with very low k's, even a lot of cars can be found here with unbelievably low k's.
I have only put 40.000k's on my Nissan Patrol since 2001

My average per season was for two yrs 4900 miles,
This yr quarter into season until my crash got 1600 miles.

Now on my car with I got 28 600 miles minus 3 months in winter When I stayed home doing nothing, was released from work and enjoyed coutch life..

Witch Again I am doing. So I guess I ride a bit. And here in Finland, in the culture I live in, it is not that much. Sometimes I even blush here to say how low that is
