Hi all, My speedo started to play up too and found it was this plasic nut too. After replacing it was fine for about 2k then my speedo has totally stopped working. After checking the nut and seeing its still fine ive came to the conclusion its the cable thats snapped this time.

Any ideas on a part number for the speedo cable on a 91 1000f? I've had a look and can find an "inner cable" but i've always thought the whole cable comes as one when it comes to speedo cables 🤔.

Also any ideas on the best way to get the cable off the cluster end access wise. I took the little panel off beneath the headlight and dropped the oil cooler of its bracket which allowed me to just about get my fingers on it but no way could i actually undo it from that position.

 

44830-MS2-000 is the part number, but is showing No Longer Available most places. If you take off the windscreen and the upper panel you should have better access
