DO NOT put rubbing alcohol in your tank! It's 30% water. If you want IPA, isopropyl alcohol, get it at a paint or hardware store.
BTW toluene=110 octane, xylene=120+ octane. Don't add too much because they don't vaporize fast enough to be good fuels by themselves.

The other product as good as Seafoam is Chevron's Techron Concentrate Plus
This imo is a hardcore cleaner for heavily deposited motors. It utilizes PEA
Polyether Amine (PEA)

treat your bike to a shot of this stuff once or twice a season ..... you'll notice a big
difference

I don't think that the information from Yahoo! will get lost, but just to be sure, I'll quote it here for 'safety measures'

If you feel that particular product is what you need,,
It's very cheap and easy to make at home

25% Cleaner>Naptha
60% Stabilizer>Kerosine
15% Oxygenate> Isopropyl Alcohol (common Rubbing Alcohol)

Other Commercial Brands such as Chevron Techron Concentrate are 100% Cleaner.
Majority is Naptha,,,along with Stoddard Solvent,Benzene,Xylene, etc.

You can Substitute Seafoam's 15% IPA for Toluene and get better results,,,most paint stores have it.
(here in the states anyway,,
I know EU's air quality standards causes big differences in chemical availability than USA's)

Seafoam is a good product.
I don't use it but I recommend it frequently for certain situations.
Being a "All-in-1 Multi Purpose " type product it's a good choice for folk's to use as a preventative meaure.
And it's convenient because they needn't have 3~4 different products to address several of a fuel system's maintenance requirements.

If you cannot find it,,,don't despair or feel like You're missing out on something "Magic".

NONE of the additive products are anything anyone "invented".

ALL the Products are merely a variety of Blends of generic,,bulk commodity petrochemicals.

They are simply bought by the barrel,,,,mixed together in various ratios,,,,Bottled>Labelled>Sold

SeaFoam for example,,
It's sells for about $8 USD for 16oz.
That's about 4 Brit Pounds for approx 1/8 L
(If I'm not mistaken in my conversion,,,lol)

$64 USD per gallon
32 pounds Sterling per 4Liters (I Think)

Here in the States we have a bunch of "$1 Dollar Stores" ,,,household and sundry items where Every Item in the store is $1

"Naptha",,,2 Bottles @ $1 eais 1/2 gallon--64 oz>> 1/2L?
"Kerosine" 3 Bottles@ $1 ea =3/4 gal
"IPA" 2 bottles for 1$ = 1/4 gal

$6 for 1.5 gals
3 pounds for 6L,,,
For "GENERIC ,Homemade seafoam"

versus the
$64 USD per gallon
32 Pounds Sterling per 4Liters
for actual,,namebrand Sea Foam

It's not so much the point that it's only 1/10 the Cost,,,
it's that homemade blend allows for ,,,not just Enhancement but even Exageration of the Beneficial Properties of the Additive Mix.

For example :
Skip the Rubbing Alcohol, replace it with Acetone,,,Same Price.
Makes engine Start much better in Cold Weather,,,SOMETIMES improves fuel mileage,,,is Less Corrosive,,,and acts like a Cleaner Itself.
And,,it gets added in at much, much lower doses.

Or,,,add a $5 pint of Toluene in lieu of a quart of Kerosine

Or ,,1$ Quart of Auto Trans Fluid,to make Mega Stabilizer.

Or,to add to Crankcase---it sometimes Smokes a bit.
But I just FEEL better Cleaning internals with a premium LUBRICANT as the engine runs,,,rather than all Solvents.

.................
Anyway,,,I'm sure this answer has already won me my fair share of thumbs' down...so enough of this.

But You Really ,Actually CAN "duplicate" Seafoam from common, cheap chemicals.

Or if You rather buy a Commercial Product and can Not find Seafoam in UK,,,
Chevron Techron is much, much More Powerful Cleaner by volume.
It will work at minimum,,,,better and faster and on a wider range of Fuel Deposits .
But ya should really only use it in Gas Tank,,not in Crankcase.
It's too agressive a cleaner and not made for such use.

Beyond Those particular products,,
Anything labelled "FUEL INJECTION" cleaner is typically going to be Higher Concentration of appropriate CLEANERS,,,
than products labelled as "Carb Cleaner" or "Gas/Fuel Treatment"

The Later 2 products Have been enriched during last Decade or so,,
So the Differences in all the Variety are Not as Great as they were 15~20 years ago

If Sea Foam is Not available,,
Chose Anything labelled as FUEL INJECTION cleaner and it will do about as good a job as Sea Foam in your Tank,Carbs, and varnish, carbon etc in Intake tract,Valves, and combustion chamber

All more/less same stuff.
CLEANERS,,,have More Cleaner and Less Stabilizer than SeaFoam.
You are currently going through Fresh Petrol,,,so Ya do not Need the hi-dosage Stabilizers at this point.
Especially when trying to CLEAN the fuel system.
You need the higher dose Cleaner.

Good Luck getting your bike running well

Having problems with my carbs leaking gas from overflow tube (CBR 1000f)
and searching for a solution, I read about Seafoam since it was able to (maybe) solving the problem.

Well since I live in Sweden and discovered that it only sells in US/Canada I had to try something else.
Super Gas Treatment (consisting mainly of white spirits/mineral spirits) was bought in a local store here and it didn't help.
A couple of other treatments later with various chemicals... didn't help either so I'm left with dismantling the carbs. (never done it before)

Now I read about a super mixture called Berryman B-9 Chem Dip, anyone
heard of it? Of course not sold here either (I think we have too many
Regulations for that) Anyway I checked the ingredients by MSDS :

Methylene Chloride (Dichloromethane)
Cresols Mixture
Mixed Xylenes
Sodium Bichromate
Ethyl Benzene

So now I'm off to the local chemist shop and have to do some shopping
Just kidding, think I have to make do with my mechanical skills..
