Mike, that is a brilliant write up. I particularly like the way you've marked the photos for absolute clarity of explanation. You have indeed raised the benchmark for How to articles.
If I may be so humble as to offer perhaps one further comment.... the problem of dropping anything into the engine is one that can not be stressed to much. The small R pins that attach the guide to the tensioner have to be removed and are perhaps the easiest of parts to drop, no matter how careful you're being. I would advise attaching a safety wire to these before removing them and re-installing them.
My two pennies worth but thanks.. excellent work!

Thanks for all the kind words guys it means a lot and I hope its a useful tool. Hell I think the write up took as long the job!

Henry very valid point. We almost managed to do that ourselves! I'll go back in and see if I can't wedge a side note in there (and give ya proper credit of course )

Henry I got ya added in there! Thanks for the advice!

Thumbs down

I went to the local shop to see how much it would cost they quoted $2000.00 that does include installing the jet kit and sync carbs and dyno.

2 K .........that means like fvc KK you ..........LOL

Indy ..........just jump in .......take her slow ........line up your parts
stock up on your favorite refreshments.......and like your first
girlfriend .......ease yourself into this intimate relationship..

it's at the end when you need help lining up her cams etc you'll get
answers to questions you might have about timing her up.

You can do it .........I know you can

My local Guy wanted 850.......nah ............I'm doing it myself in late January
and I hope to go about it fairly differently
