I'm in the shed now mate working on a prototype. Its come up pretty good actually. When Im done I'll post. Cheap as chips and will do what I need it to do. beats having a fork tube fixed because of a stray stone.

Not bad at all.
I have a set of $7 foam grips in my garage that I bought on ebay for long trips. I've never used them, though. They just seemed too fat for my liking. I'm using pro-grip gels and I really like them. Pretty cheap, too, at $14.

pro-gel grips sound good but after a few 200ks plus runs up and around the mountains the old stubbie grips are holding up nicely and no wrist problems like with the OEM's...definitely a winner.

Just a heads up on my DIY (Stubbie Beer Holder) grips, neoprene material. I've clocked up quite a bit of mileage with them now and have to say they are working out great.
That's the Mk 2 version with the finger grip profile, pics at: bazzasmotoblog.blogspot.com
An easy project but well worth it.
