Default Fluffy and soft

Hey all, I am just posting out a question to you guys about sheeps/lambs/whatever wool seat covers. I am looking to do a bit of longer distance touring to visit some friends and relatives who live interstate and interstate in Australia can mean some long *** trips. Do the wool covers that you can get for yor bike make much of a difference on those longer trips? if anyone owns or has used such seat covers could you give me your opinion and also and problems that you can have with them. Oh and what sort of wool tends to be the best as well.

Cheers big ears!!!

I find the lambwool or short haired sheep skins aren't too good. Certainly better than nothing tho'

Just go to the sheepskin sellers and get an off cut in longhair. I find the longhair stuff makes all the difference in comfort. I just put it on the seat and sit on it and I find it doesn't move around.

Hi there I live in Central Queensland and I have purchased a seat cover from Sheepy Hollow and for the extra padding I placed 75 mm of anti crush foam underneath the back for my wife the seat cover holds it perfectly as you can see from the photo. As for the front of my seat it is very comfy just with the cover, we only stay on for about 150 to 200 Ks before we have a stop and a walk around and we are both over 6 feet, hope this helps.
Sheepy Hollows web site is http://www.sheepyhollow.com/ they are in Brisbane and take about 10 days for a seat cover.

Thanks Waz57, i checked out their web site and they had full tailored seats for our bikes for $200. They look very nice in that black too. Their website however is terrible looking [] what is up with that color scheme and the confusing process. Anyway, i will keep them up there. I have also seen another place:
http://goodwool.com.au/bike.html

These guys look nice as well. Thanks

Not sure about their website my wife ended up phoning them to order my cover, and I am extremly happy with the seat cover we are off to Bundy tommorow so its going to be a 500 Ks round trip so we are glad that we have it. Also thanks for that other website I have asked them if they make a waterproff cover for our bikes as when we go away I wont have room for the bike cover and if we get stuck in rain along the way the cover should stay dry.

You might try getting a wooden bead automotive seat cushion
and cutting it to fit your bike, much cheaper and more effective that lambswool IMHO.

I already have the lambswool cover, I was saying that I am asking the company given to me by kenzor, for a price on the waterproof cover for the seat, as I feel it would get quite wet on a rainy day and you cant actually place the whole bike cover over the bike whilst riding. And for the cost of the cover my wife purchase it for my birthday, and really it is extremely comfortable on a trip. I once had one of those beaded covers I think the kids gave it to me for fathers day but I found it way to uncomfortable, some people think they are great but I suppose its like ergononic chairs they do little or any difference for me as well. Bu thanks for the suggestion someone else might be able to use it on their bike.
