F4i Air ducts LED turn signals...
Hi everyone!!
Before anything I want to say that this is a "Reloaded" version of the How to did by Axsys. Check it here.
So, lets make it...
In a few words, if you have flushmounts in your F4i, its very difficult for everyone else to see you turn signal from the front of the bike, so like Axsys did but with more leds, I put exactly 20 superbright leds in each air duct.
Parts Needed:
-40 superbright Leds (a few more would be ok)
-Red/Black wire
-Solder Tools
-8 Resistors, exactly for RED superbright LEDS, 180 ohms 1/4w
-Glue Gun
-Silicon sealant.
Step 1.
Take your front upper fairing off, disassemble the 2 air ducts grills that are attached to the fairing.
At this point you have to choose which design to make, remember you have 20 leds to use. I put 10 leds one step before the top an the other 10 on the outter side of the grill. (You'll see them in the pics)
Step 2.
You have to make 4 series of 5 LEDs for each side, you have to solder the + to the - of the next led, at the end of the 5th led you have the negative leg and there you need to solder the resistor.

Step 3.
Once you have the 8 series of 5 leds (4 series each side)
looks like this...
Attachment 11564
Be carefull to NOT solder all series of leds equally, depending on the design you choose you gonna have to measure the space needed between each led. For my design i have to solder for 1 series 4 leds with no space between and the 5th led with a space of about 3mm.
Now you have to paste each series in the air duct grill with the glue gun like this...
Check the bottom led, that's the space i told you above...
Cheers!!!
with 2 series
