I tried something like this a while ago...Ended up ripping it out because i didnt like seeing the leds even though im the only one that would notice it. I might try something else this winter mounting them further inside maybe?

Thanks Redz, when i did that i was thinking how good they will look but it ended pretty well, last few weeks i had a lot of work and that's why i havent take the pics but i can tell you IT LOOKS HELL BRIGHT!!!! everyone tells me that theythink i'm a cop but i only have my turn signal on...lol. By the way ill send you a pm cause i need help with my recent homemadeled pegs turn signals....

Good job, John. They look nice! I'll probably try this myself but like redz said, I'm going to try to do it in a way that the led's won't be visible until the signal is flashing. Thanks for the write-up, bro. Made it look easy.

 

I want to do this, but I'm not trying to make it look like I just threw some LEDs in my air ducts. I want to hide them the best I can, so is it acceptable to use VHT nightshades on the LEDs? Any other ideas?

 

I did this mod as well but I took the easy way and used the side mounted SMD strip and wrapped it inside.
They are wired up as running lights/turn signals but I'm not sure if I should keep them that way or just make them turn signals.
You can't tell they are there with the bike off since the strip is black.
I couldn't quite get the bend radius at the bottom because it was very tight and I didn't want to snap any solder joints.

ooh I like that, but I'm sure I would get yelled at for them not being orange. Maybe I'll try to find those strips in orange, we'll see.

 

Dead Thread revival. I did this today cuz i kicked off my cheap chinese signal mirrors cuz they pissed me off so much. Stock mirrors and LED vents with flush mounts will do. They are pretty visible at all angles even in full sunlight.
