^ You should use a new gasket, even if the old one looks good, you may have bent or put a small tear somewhere you dont see, and could cause a leak. The only exception being if its less then a week or 2 old and you have to go back in for some reason. Then i would say just clean the surfaces and re use.

I just wish I could picture how the clutch in a bike transfers power from the crank to the input shaft of the tranny...

bumping this thread back up.

So I have an F4i, I bought it cheap and know nothing about the history. The clutch wont release.

I pulled all the steels and frictions plates, there within spec. When the clutch center is torqued onto the clutch outer, it will not spin independantly.

So, basically with no clutch plates or springs even installed, just the clutch hub torqued onto the clutch basket the bike wont roll if its in gear. the bearing inside the clutch hub still rolls smooth.

What do you think? new clutch basket?
