# 5 and 7 don't need to be done the linkage has left hand threads on one end and right hand on the other. Just loosen the 10mm nuts and spin the shaft to adjust.

I like the idea, but dont know that I could get used to it... I'd be mis-shifting all over the place!!

Default Reason to do the GP shift pattern change...

When you are really railing through a left hander, mainly for the track, it's sometimes impossible to get your boot under the shifter to upshift as you exit a corner. Too far leaned over... Sweeper corners are especially prone to reaching your rev limiter before you can get the bike upright enough to put your boot under the shifter and go on to the next gear.

For downshifting, since most decelerating should be done before you start to turn in to a corner...and the bike is usually (hopefully) upright as you brake and downshift for the corner, getting a toe under the lever and selecting the proper gear is less problematic.
