yes i know im stupid, but please help...
so anywho i painted my windscreen today....looks fabulous..used krylon fusion paint..works great..had a little sticker on outside of windscreen and took it off...it left a little goo on...so i go and get the goo gone..goo gone messed up the whole outside of my freshly painted windscreen..started eating the plastic...****...so i paint the outside which i know i should have not done...i need to know if there is any way to get rid of some of the orange peel from the spraypaint...can it be wetsanded off? can i buff it off? please help me, cause it looks like *** now...
Not sure how Krylon works exactlly but that stuff is supposed to bond with plastic real good. On regular spray-paint, I used mineral spirits to remove someone elses mess. Had to set a rag full of mineral spirits on the plastic for a while...1-3 minutes and then the paint would start to blister and rub off. Be careful thou, because if the liquid would sit too long it began to eat at the plastic. Really sketchy if that method will work for ya but that's what I've done in the past.
oh im not even thinking about buying one...ill leave it..looks good from 10 ft at 10mph haha..i think im gunna try some 3000 wet sanding and some heavy waxing.. if that doesnt work ill just paint it again i guess. cant look any worse right?
You could have tried "Easy-off" oven cleaner. It will not harm plastic but should eat the paint off. Just make sure you wear protective (rubber/latex) gloves if you are going to try this... that is, if its not to late to fish it out of the trash can.
well im looking for a windscreen for a 98 f3 if anyones got one for sale....hit me up. double bubble stock, tinted, whatever i got a 1/2 a can of fusion left...thanks
