wont go into 6th gear????

Hey I just bought a cbr 600 1996.....all seems fine except I was riding at about 45 an it wouldn't go into 6th gear....all other gears are fine though any ideas

Why would you shift into 6th doing 45, never tried it myself but maybe you need to going a little faster to shift that high.

Figure you would be in 3rd gear doing 45 and that's just easing around...
