Default whistling noise

Guys, 98 BB 35k

Whilst driving and in gear I developed a whistling noise. When I depress the clutch even just by half and inch without shifting gears the noise goes away, once I release the clutch the noise is back on again. Any idea what this might be please?>

Regards Brendon

Maybe have a look at the clutch needle bearing, Blackbirds are well known for this type of Clutch/Transmission noise
