So I always wear a full face helmet, textile jacket, and leather gloves while riding. My gloves I just throw in my backpack upon arriving at my destination. But it is really a hastle to carry my helmet around, or to wear my jacket when not riding.
(talking mostly for running errands/ going to play disc golf or anything besides going to a friends house where I trust setting my stuff down)

What do you guys do with your gear? I have seen a couple of different ways people lock their helmets to their bikes. I am very interested in buying whatever it is you need to do so. Also, is there a way to lock your jacket to your bike?

For my helmet, I usually lock it on the rear seat with my gloves shoved inside. I usually carry my jacket.

But, you could probably carry a small cable and lock. If the cable is long enough, you could run it through both arms of the jacket and also through the D rings of the helmet, and then lock it to your bike through the foot rest or something.

Just remember, however you lock it, its only going to slow the person down trying to take it. And it won't slow them much. If they want your gear, they will get it. There's just no real secure way to keep your gear with your bike. Luckily, theft isn't too common where I live and ride.

I own a Honda CBR 600 and I bought a rack and topbox, which I use to store my helmet and gloves in. I also keep a pair of waterproof leggings in in case it rains. Buy a 60 litre topbox and a good rack for your particular bike and you'll have plenty of room for your helmet, gloves and waterproofs.
