Default What comes in a factory tool kit?

Hey guys, quick question: When I bought my '98 CBR F3 (used), the previous owner lost the tool kit along the way and now I don't have it. What should I buy to make a toolkit? I was thinking a Leatherman and some zip ties, maybe a few extra fuses? Let me know if there's anything else I should really have in there!

Thanks!

I found a F3 toolkit on ebay the other day - when it shows up I'll post a pic.

The F3 toolkit is a standard kit that has been in every Japanese bike since the 1st bike ever come off a production line, the usual adjustable pair of useless pliers, suspect spanners, reversible screwdriver & a couple of feeler gauges for the clearances spark plugs & front brakes (should you have remove the front wheel). The only variation with the F3 is that it has a spanner (wrench) that fits the rear axle nut & is a thin piece of cr*p that will damage the nut when you try use it. The only exception is the spark plug socket wrench, which works well if you have a couple days to do it & don't mind ending up with a bad back & aching wrists & arms.

With that in mind, your better off making up your own kit.

Ok good info thanks! I think I'll just piece together my own then. here's what I'm thinking:
  • Leatherman
  • Allen Wrench set (Swiss army knife style)
  • Small adjustable wrench
  • flash light
  • Zip ties, fuses, duct tape
  • tire puncture kit & CO2 charge?
  • ..and a few Power Bars, in case I break down and get hungry

Not sure if the spark plug wrench and feeler gauges are necessary? I'm not about to tear down an engine on the side of a road somewhere. Probably time to just call a tow truck.
