I have the same bike and I bought it used and it would sputter especially while idling. I changed my spark plugs and it fired much better. But the actually sputter turned out to be from a missing exahaust gasket. And you are suppose to have the choke on all the way when you start it, not turn it on after, it is suppose to sit with choke on for a little while to warm up. I am very new to this bike but I thought I would throw that out there.

I just sold my F2, but when I would start it, I would first engage the choke fully, then throttle it once or twice, then push the button to start and it would fire up like a champ. as the idle increased as it warmed up, I'd back the choke off accordingly, at that point, I'd take off after a few min of warming, then by the time I made it down the road 1/2 mi, I'd flip the choke off all the way and all was fine. the rest of the day, depending on how long it sat, if it was still warm, usually didn't have to choke it at all, just mostly after it sat all night.
