Default Waste Oil Container

I have always struggled with finding containers to store oil in. I have one of those big black drain pans that holds the oil. Basically, I drop the bike's oil into a standard catch pan and transfer it into the bigger and covered drip pan.

Personally, I only change my bikes oil and I was looking into different ways of storing the oil for the riding season, dumping into a collection center, and reusing the container.

I ran down to Walmart and picked up a 5 gallon gas can for $9.50. I had black spray paint in my garage (it was actually high-heat spray paint for grills) and painted the can black for oil storage.

I give you the do it yourself, reusable waste oil container.

cool idea. I personally just put it into an old oil jug or empty milk/water gallon, and then leave that behind vatozone. easy way to get rid of old brake fluid to(may not be legal in some places).....

also cant get btched at for leaving 'crap' around

Good creativity gray0n.

I use the 9 qt waste oil container(s) purchased from walmart. They're 20” long x 13.5” wide x 5.5” deep. They have two top plugs for oil to drip into & the pour spout end for when you take it to recycle.

What I like about the size is it fits nicely under bikes when they're up on stands. Too, the size allows for draining oil from the pan & from the oil filter location at the same time.

Other pluses are that they are stackable (somewhat interlocking) & being flat, you can easily transport them in the back of your vehicle to the recycle center.
