Default Valves or CCT?

Is there a quick way (other than replacing the cct) to determine whether the noise I am hearing coming out of my F4i is the CCT or valves?

Is it a constant rattle at all RPM's or is it quiet at some point and noisy at others, does it get louder as the RPM's increase? My 96 F3 had a noise at about 4500 to 5500 and it's in the CCT. I tinkered with the CCT and got it to quieten down some but I'm going to replace it to be safe.

Ok so I checked it out and it only happens when the bike is warmed up. and it does not happen at idle but it does happen at higher RPM (like 4500)... exhaust is too loud to hear when i go past 6000. thanks for the help
