Ive only had my cbr for a few weeks now and i was just noticing that when i rev it up to about 6 or 6 and a half i hear a really fast knock or click of some sort. It sounds like it is coming from my valves. i was just wondering if anyone could help me out with what this might be, or maybe this has happened to someone else?

 

sounds like its probably the "dreaded" cct going out on ya. I would get a manual cam chain tensioner (the ape one works good) and po that bad boy in there and be done with it. Just my .02 c

 

is there any danger in riding with the bad cct? even if just for a short period of time before i replace it?

 

i did some reading on this awhile back, and no it shouldnt if you dont ride too much. i mean if you need to ride it to a shop or something go ahead, but i wouldnt do everyday riding with it like that.
