Default Valve noise question, please

ive been searching online for a while now without any definate answers. i'll describe what is going on and if someone can tell me if its normal, if thier own bike acts the same way or, if you think its not normal i will be very greatful. i have a 99 f4 with 47,000 miles on it.

my bike runs good, normally 200-225. i have noticed if the temp goes up to 235 or higher in traffic it hesitates and has some kind of spark knock sound on take off.

also, i have noticed that when i travel from hot and humid sc to the mountains with very cool temps, i here valve train, it sounds like a loud sewing machine. its noticable. i know its the valve train. it makes the noise only when the engine running temp is around im guessing 180-190, i know its under 200.

other than the hesitation in higher temps while sitting in traffic and the valve train noise it runs very strong with no other problems at all. starts good, no lack in power, burns no oil. i have noticed that at the normal operating temp between 200-225 it seems to run smoother and stronger than at the lower and higher running temps.

does that sound normal?

thanks again

My F1 can get a bit of hesitation like that if it's really hot outside and I'm stuck sitting somewhere. Not sure if it's a fuel issue or something else, but I wired an aux fan switch for situations where I get stuck sitting so I can flip the fan on to keep it a lil cooler.

Not sure about the F4, but the early 600's like mine have a cam chain rattle issue also. Might want to try a valve clearance adjustment and see if the noise improves. With that mileage it's definitely due for one if it hasn't been done already.
