Default Using a charger to help troubleshoot...

Can you use your trickle charger as a battery to help troubleshoot your turn signals/headlights/taillights?

I asked this in another thread but figured it might get a response here. I just bought a brand new battery for my 929 and it was $127. I'm not trying to kill it just yet and I need to find some possible electrical problems...

Yes? No?

Bueller, Bueller... ?

Im pretty sure you could just hook it straight to the contacts w/o the batterty, but just hook it up to the battery and just work that way. It's what i do when im doing electrical stuff that i need to physically see work.

Default RE: Using a charger to help troubleshoot...

Makes sense.

I wonder if anyone can chime in...

I've got HID's installed but can't seem to get the high beams to display, only the low beam. Both ballasts/HID bulbs work when tried, just not in the high beam socket. I've only tried it with the bike not running, and with a previously almost dead battery.

Should a fully charged battery display high-beams with the bike not running? It's a 929 if it matters...

Thanks again!

I had a friend that had a problem similar to this when working with hisHIDs that he installed on his bike. There was only one solution to the problem that he could find, he had to sell his bike and the problem went away. So, sell your bike. [sm=lol.gif]
