throttle sticking after knocked over help me
My bike got backed into by a wrecker when I was not home I came home and this guy left his wrecker parked in my space some and in his so I called police I didn't see it happen so nothing can happen except small claims court the body is fine thank god but the throttle is kinda hard to twist and when you do it doesn't return very fast at all but it creeps back forward slowly and the exhaust is bent inwards any info as to how to fix throttle would be appreciated
Hey dude I had the same problem, if Tahoes idea doesn't fix your problem thenthat guy bent your clip-on, first you should buy a used one, I bought mine from cycletherapy.com they did a good job for me.nextyou need to remove the tank and air filter ducts to gain access to the throttle cables. loosen both of them and remove the bottom one from the bracket, this should have given you enough slack to remove the cable thats in the front on the throttle tube, then twist the throttle tube to remove the second cable. loosen and remove the master cylinder. then remove the pinch bolt on the side of the handle bar. and before you can remove that clip on, you have to remove a tiny ring that goes around the top of the fork. (it won't allow you to slide it off until it is removed) then just twist alittle and slide it up.
It could be the clip on is bent or that the bar end has been pushed towards the grip and is restricting it. I had the exact same problem when swapping bar ends. It didn't look too close but its amazing what a mm of adjustment does with the bar end. Loosen it a little and see. Might be a no cost option. If not, its the clip on.
