Default Thoughts on Powdercoating Frame? '96 F3

As the title says: What are your thoughts on powdercoating a frame? '96 F3

I've gotten a few quotes, best being at $200 even. Includes blasting, chemical prep, masking and powder. Frame, swingarm, forks and triple tree.

What does the finish and feel look like? Does it look and feel like regular paint or is it much different?

I prefer the satin. I powdercoated the frame on my NC30 and I really like it. I have been considering the 900. Maybe when I get to a place where it doesn't live outside I'll do a full restore one winter.

it doesn't look all that different from paint. and since its the frame, i would definitely get it coated instead of painted. it will look great. if you look in the for sale section here, __Z__ had his frame coated. it's not flat, but it's not super glossy. it's not quite as "smooth" as paint, but its pretty good.

joe shmoe on the street won't be able to tell, only someone who really knows the difference would.

that's a pretty good price too considering all the time it'll take to blast it.

it's very durable. it's the way i would go.
