Prep.. really depends on the item, i'm new to this, but if it's clean metal like the heel gaurds you just wanna go over them with a rag and some cleaner, hot water, just to make sure you get the grime and dirt off, now an item the stator covers which i'm going to do, you'll need to get them sand blasted so that they're clean or the powder wont stick.. Cost, it depends on wether you do itself, my buddy has all the equipment to do it, i know the powder is dirt cheap i know a big container of it is only like 20 bucks, which is enough to do all the parts on the bike and alot more. As far as a professional shop, i've never been to one i can imagine they'd be kinda spendy but there's no harm in asking. I'll post more pics when i powdercoat the remaining parts.

cool thanks man.. as far as it being harsh i can switch to a soft plastic beed and not use as much air pressure. I wont even try it tell this winter though.. now that its 70+ outside i dont want to take a chance of loosing any ridding time.
