Default Will Powdercoating Weaken My Frame

I polished my frame last year and it is alot of work to maintain. I would like to powdercoat my frame and swingarm this winter and change the color of my bike, can you tell me if it will weaken my frame because of the extreme heat when the frame is in the oven. Thanks Johnny

No it won't. And the heat in the oven is not really that "extreme". I'm pretty sure it's only around 400 degrees fahrenheit. You will, however, need to remove steering neck bearings, swingarm bearings, and all seals that are in the frame before you powdercoat it. They media blast the frame before powdercoating and if bearings are still in there, they'll have sand in them for all eternity.
