I have some bad news...it looks like i'm going to be selling my F4...i originally bought the bike used and Icouldn't pass up the deal on a friend's '02 GSXR.

Here is my dilemna... i just put brand new M3s on the F4...they have ZERO mileage on them. I want to swamp the new tires on the F4 with the used on the GSXR.

Second, i don't want to pay someone more money to swap the tires on the rims....so i was thinking about just swapping the whole tire/rim from bike to bike. Both bikes wear the same exact sizedrubber, but is it ok to switch rims as well?

I have race stands so it would be easy for me to do, but i want to make sure there is not a significant difference with the rims.

Any help would be great!

As long as the rims are the same width, heighth, and the axle and other center pieces are a match...don't see why not.

Other things to consider are torque outputs of both bikes, suspensions, and driveline...aka chain, chassis, etc.

I've never done this before, so you'll want to get a second opinion...

 

I can tell you for sure the front axles are different sizes....not to mention axle spacers, rotor offsets and so on.

Check out the cyclegear price on Diablo's...at the price they are selling for, swapping tires isn't even worth it.

I played musical tires on three bikes this winter to get the ones I wanted on my bike and the least desireable ones on the bike I was selling.....but I mount and balanance myself.
