Default IPONE Synthetic "Superbike" oil

I was in my local shop one day to buy some oil. I normally use either Motul, or Bel Ray sythetics in my bike. The parts guy (whom I deal with on a regular basis) suggested the IPONE oil. Apparently it is made (or distributed by) Motul. It was about $5 cheaper per litre. Well I tried it.

After about 1000kms I noticed my bike making some valve noises and running really hot. I also noticed a decrease in my top speed. Mostly it was the noises that started me worrying. I was getting a horrible "tick" from my cylinder head.

I went out and bought some Bel Ray EXS to change out the problem oil. The Ipone drained out like water. It had seemingly completely broken down. Needless to say I was very unhappy. After changing the oil the noises stopped and the bike had its top end back.

I ride an 06 CBR600 F4i. With the IPONE oil it topped out at 147mph. With the Bel Ray EXS in similar weather conditions it topped at 158mph. 11mph diffrence with just an oil change.

Before anybody starts, yes it is the same grade of oil, they both fit the specs laid out by Honda. Stay away from IPONE. Its junk! I just hope that crap didn't do any damage. I tried to save a buck and ended up costing myself over $80 extra.
