use synthetic oil that doesn't have additives to help with gas milage. Tha'ts what i've heard. Car oils consintract on saving fuel which will cause the gear box to slip in bike. I just stick with the Honda oil. Kinda expensive...but atleast I know it works.

I think abadfish says he uses mobil 1 10w40.

I just stick with the GN4 honda oil.. It averages from 16-20 bux a gallon and the f3 (98) takes 3.9 qts, which makes a gallon perfect. Also, the honda oil has an additive because the bike has a wet clutch, meaning that the clutch uses the oil to shift, and not just gear oil. I dont know that I would trust anything else when the engine and clutch both need it. Just my .02......
