RE: rim swapping
umm, i dont think there is a simple solution for either. for the swingarm, take a look at this to see what you would be getting into:

as far as the rim, i think an F2 may fit, but not without spacers, and a little bit of work. but that kind of goes hand in hand with getting a new singarm.

RE: rim swapping
do you plan on keeping the bike for a long time or just as a stepping stone to a better ride?
i ask because if you plan on dumping it after a short time, it may not be worth the hassle or money to spruce it up. the 87-90 cbrs are not really interchangeble with other year makes. at some point in the product cycle, they go through a complete redesign. nothing is really going to fit right up from one product cycle to another. it can be made to fit, but it takes some ability and imagination.
as for a wider tire, a 150 will fit on the oem rim. just make sure the front and back are the same make (radial or bias ply) and same sidewall height (90, 80, or 70 series). if not the same height, then you will have to play around with ride height to get the bike back to its' correct stance.

that is an awesome post. im planning on keeping the bike for a while, pretty much till i get over confident then ill opt for something a bit bigger, but i doubt that is gonna be any time soon. it doesnt seem like it would be that hard, maybe take a while but shoudlnt be to difficult im pretty mechanically inclined been wrenching since i was 12 but i like to have a heads up on my options.

RE: rim swapping
thanks for the info but i've got some bad news. I have to sell my project now to fund some other things that are a little more important. This sucks so bad, I was going to turn this thing into a one of a kind custom, but I've got a 1970 mustang project to finish, and I Have an off road golf-cart, a truck, and I race go-karts on dirt in my spare time. Somethings got to give, or i'll keep blowing money. I love this bike, I learned how to ride on this thing, and I didnt think i'd ever part with it. Oh well at least I have somethin to ride still. anyone need parts?
