Default stripped screw!....help!

anyone got any idaes how do get a super stripped screw off? the philips screw is on the air box and im trying to get to my air filter. its such a pain in da a$$ i cant get it off and i tried just about all i can do. i dont want to break the plastics around the screw. i spent a good half da day on this dayum thing and still a no go. [sm=headbang.gif]

i had the same problem trying to remove my airbox. and got those exact ones from sears, didnt work for jack just stripped the screw even worse. ended up drilling it out starting with a small bit and working it up to the size of the head, then it just fell out and no damage to the plastic casing, i even screwed right back into the same holes.

I stripped some screws on a carb once. I don't know about the screws that you are talking about, but I tried the distressed scew kit from Sears and it didn't help me either. The best way to get a distressed screw out is with a vice grip. Again, I don't know if you could get a vice on this particular screw, but if you can, that's the way to do it.

I've used a dremel to cut a notch in the head then use slot screwdriver to get a good bite and remove, wont work for counter sunk though,only pan head's and such
