Default Starting Problems, please help?

I just bought a CBR F4, and I had the engine running. I was sitting on the bike and rev'ed the engine a little and it just shut off. Now when I try to start it, it just sounds like it wants to start and backfires sometimes. Actually it backfires about every 5 to 10 sec. when trying to start it. Any help or suggestions would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks

Check the fuel filter also. It could be plugged.

Change your fuel, add 1/4 bottle of heat. Change the plugs. Do an oil change. These are all things you should do with a new bike/any bike, at the start of a new riding season.
