Default Starting problems

Hi everyone, Im new to this forum and to motorcycles. This is my first bike that I have ever had. It is a 02 honda cbr 600 fri. Well I have had it for about 2 months now without any problems. Here in the past couple of weeks it is starting to act up. After I ride for awhile and cut the bike off it will not start back up. The headlight will go out when i hit the start button and it want even try to crank. When it does do this I have to push it off. If i let it sit and cool off it will fire back up everytime. I firgued it wasent the battery but I went ahead and replaced it anyways since it was the factory one. It didnt make any difference. Im just wandering what the problem could be. Could it be with the neutral safety switch? Just trying to get an idea on where to start checking. LOL its not to cool being on a bike and having to get push started everytime you stop.

...Could it be with the neutral safety switch?...
Yes, but I would start at the engine stop switch first. If the headlamp operates, the battery should be strong enough to start the bike. Then I would check the main fuse. Could also be side-stand switch, ignition switch, or starter button. Check the starter srelay to see if power is getting there. The worst case scenario is the starter motor is bad. You will need a manual for your bike and a simple digital volt meter to test all the switches.

I dono, I would surly say its electrical, sounds like could be the stator, or something that is getting warm while you ride and doesn't seem to like it.

Could be the regulator/rectifier. Mine went out and the bike acted the same way, except mine would die while it was running.

Anyway, it might be worth replacing or at least testing. It's mounted on the right side tail, and I think I got a replacement piece off of ebay for less than $20.
