Starting Issues! Please Help!
Alright i have owned cbr's all my life and love them. This past weekend a good buddy of mine bought a 1993 CBR 600. I took the bike out for a 20 minute ride and it worked great no unusual noises or issues to speak of. We loaded the bike up and this being my buddies first bike he was grinning from ear to ear! After he got home he unloaded the bike and this is when the trouble began. It will roll over but won't start. I helped him take the plugs out and noticed they were wet. We cleaned them up and put them back in but still nothing! We have used his truck to boost it while trying to start it and it still won't fire. I noticed when his tank was off with the fuel in the on position that no fuel was leaking from it. We took the petcock apart and and cleaned it up. Put the tank back on and hoped for the best, but still a no go. Plugs were pulled again and came out wet. If the bike was not getting fuel to it then you would think the plugs would be dry? I feel bad for my buddy and would like to help him save some money on taking it to the shop. PLEASE ANY ADVICE IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!
My first guess would be you probably tied the bike down by using straps on the handlebars. If you did, you could have damaged the killswitch. I would take a close look at that and make sure its not sticking, or it didn't break internally.
Thats about the only thing that will cut spark and still allow the bike to crank over.
Also, when you jumped his bike with the truck, hopefully you did't have the truck running, as it could ruin the charging system on the bike. they are not the same type of systems. You can jump it with the truck off, but never with it running.
