Default starting issues

I really having problems with my 87 1000F. When I turn the ignition, turn on the starter switch, and press the starter button, nothing happens but my neutral light dims, there's no clicks or anything. All my connections are tight, not blown fuses, and I have a fully charged battery with no damaged cells. If anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. I have a newer starter solenoid on order from Ebay so hopefully that will do her right.

Try this.... cause its a problem that realy often ocurrs:
With the ignition on, hold and press the start button and with the other hand wigle (press a lot of times) the cut-off/ power button. Usualy those buttons get &%ed realy fast.
