Default squirly in corners

hey guys, whats up. I seem to have a problem in the corners. The bike seems to really get squirly at around 90 mph when cornering. I was trying to find out what i can do to change the bike or even my riding style. any advice would be appreciated. thanks

I read a whole article on Sportbike Rider magazine's website. Not sure of the link but it shouldnt be hard to find on the sight. They go into disgusting detail on the suspension systems on these modern sportbikes. They also show you a technique on how to measure yourself on and off the bike, and where/how to make adjustments depending on what numbers you come up with. It was extremely informative.

Sounds Obvious i know but have you checked your tyre pressures?

Lot of factors go into making a smooth corner blast. Tire pressure, spring preload, rebound and damping, at what point you brake, if you're smooth on the throttle coming out and even how you position your body weight. I'm not 100% sure what you mean by squirrelly -- is the bike loose in the corner or are you wiggling the **** end? Mostly I find that being smooth is what makes the corners fun -- some days I is and some days I isn't[8D].

thanks for the advice. I'll definatly try to find the article for the suspention adjustments.
And as for what I mean by squirly, is that the back end doesn't seem to stay in line with the front. I t seems to wiggle out of place.(If that makes any sense) I talked to another rider with an F4I, and he said he had the same prob, and tightening the rear suspention helped a little. peace

I'd think it's probably low tire pressure and/or too much preload on your shock.

With that said, sometimes if the front end suspension settings are way out of wack then it will telegraph weird **** to the backend. When in reality your rear settings are fine. So, after you check tires and rear suspension settings and you feel like you're chasing your tail, zero out f/r settings to stock, then work from that point onward.

Good luck.

Excellent point Whippet -- I had that problem on an old Ninja. The rear end always seemed loose in the corners and no matter how much I dicked with the preload and damping back there it never was quite right. A buddy of mine who races semi-pro told me to preload the front a couple turns and try it. Whaddaya know -- it worked out sweet.
