Default Blind Corners...

Wasn't sure where to post this, but I figured what better place than the new riders section still being new myself, so here we go...

WATCH FOR CARS STOPPED IN A BLIND CORNER(or anything else for that matter)

I was riding the other night on a road I did not know and took a tight blind right hander and what did I find? Well, some sort of big @ss cadilac something or other stopped dead just past the apex of the curve. I had to straighten up the bike and hit the brakes hard and luckily I didn't hit them. My only other choice would have been to run wide past the double yellow and hope there wasn't a car coming the other way.

The lesson (which saved me from a wreck), only take a corner at a speed in which you can stop safely in the distance that you can see.I know that if I had taken it any faster I would not have had the skill to stop in time and/or I would have swerved and had another car been coming I would have ran right into them.I ended up going around the car and telling the guy that he needed to move NOW because he is going to cause an accident.

People are absolultely ridiculous out there, please be careful guys and gals!

Excellent post ..if you can't see around the bend you have no business going fast through it ... it's kinda like playing Russian roulette otherwise ...

Amen to that! At night you shouldn't outride your headlight, and the same principle applies during daylight. There could be a stopped car, gravel or debris, an animal on the road, or any other hazard that you won't see until it's too late. The street isn't a controlled environment like the track, and you never know what or who is around the next bend.
