sprocket question round 2, do i need to change them?
just to make sure the mechanic got it right, since they often dont, do you guys think i need to change the rear sprocket and chain?

the chain is still away from the "new chain" mark and for some reason the mechanic didnt leave the nuts with the same distance on both sides as u can see in the pics int he same album. tho the rear is very balanced and moves with a lot more freedom and ease than b4.....you're guys opinions?
the chain and sprocket are a 520 conversion with -1/43 gearing
pics of front sprocket coming soon*

Chain could do with a clean and a re lube ... and yer , those teeth are starting to curl just a touch ... don't look like much lube on it either?
I prolly would run it for a bit yet if its not kicking up a racket ..
Some change at the first sign of wear ...me I run em till they are pretty dead .. but that's just me ...

Yeah, you're not in any real risk, yet, but the chain IS putting a lot of force on the outside of the sprocket. Take the chain off, soak it in carb cleaner and scrub it clean, then lube the hell out of it. Put it back on and adjust the alignement and slack.
Vortex's are made of a VERY soft aluminum, and thus wear out VERY fast. If you're not racing competitively, I'd reccomend going with soemthing steel next time you swap them. What's the pitch of your setup? Most people who go vortex end up dropping down to 520, which they end up replacing after only a couple thousand miles. Not a good deal unless you're sponsored. If you're at 520 and that worn, I'd reccomend with replacing the whole set with a 525 or 530 setup.
