Out of round sprocket, need replacement?
I've been riding my 87 CBR1000F Hurricane for a year now, and just changed the tires for the first time. When reinstalling the rear wheel, I found the slack varied quite a bit. At the tight spot, it has 5/8" slack, and 180 degrees from that there is 1 1/2" slack. That is so much slack at the loose spot that the chain starts to slap around a bit. Did something change, or what?
I removed the rear wheel, leaving the sprocket on the wheel.
The shop changed the tire.
I reinstalled the wheel, and set the slack at the tight spot to 5/8" as per the manual.
I removed all grease from the chain with WD40 and relubed it.
And that's about it.
Thanks,
Beebop
